She’s finally here. On paper, she looks sublime. Check out these stats.
Rumor has it that Gwaelin and her roomie-turned-Exvius-addict, Haruu, are plotting a pulling battle, the likes of which we’ve never yet seen. (Here’s hoping that The Editor, aka moi, doesn’t get swept away by the hype.)
Updates to follow.
(This post is a work-in-progress, so check back soon for more info–and more scandal.)
Just when you’d gotten used to farming Urutan Flowers, the FFXII collab event disappeared into thin air. (Or the Sky-Sea, anyway.)
Distract yourself from the tragedy by hitting this new story event (or farming cactuars, perhaps.).
Week Two (of the new Brave Exvius event) hath begun, and, alas, a naughty little monster tagged along for some reason.
Perhaps it escaped from Monster Hunter World, which dropped a mere six hours ago; this particular monster’s called Urutan-Eater, though, meaning that the world it escaped from was that of Final Fantasy XII.
Speaking of which, Basch is a fabulous tank, unlike our heretofore-charismatic Leading Man (failure, sigh. Whoever heard of naming an ability Rapid Fire when it takes LONGER to execute than BARRAGE, even!?).
Anyway, back to this Urutan-Eater thingie, he’s limited-time-only, and must be accessed through an exploration.
SOOOOOO MANY PEOPLE are hating on the Dangerous Ariana character, but guess what?
Other than the fact that she’s a FREE 6* Unit, there are lots of things you may not know about how POWERFUL she is!
[Editor’s Note: She WAS free to all players WHO CLEARED the first (or perhaps second) level in the ORIGINAL Dangerous Woman Event.
We do NOT know if she will be available again in this second leg of her Dangerous Tour!
Just in case you began playing since then and thought someone was ripping you off! Ok, back to your regularly-scheduled programming, then!]
IF you’re a FREE-To-Play (F2P) Player, you MAY have the problem of “I don’t have a good black mage!”
For example, The (Otherwise-)Fearsome Editor’s account (F2P) has not gotten ANY Exdeaths (too many Shantottos, though), though she did get an Arc.
Arc’s MAG (magic stat) can’t get very high, even with every TMR under the sun. His only HUGE advantage is NATIVE DUALCAST, but I am not even sure it would be as strong as a higher MAG casting just ONCE. (Scientific testing to follow, I’m sure.)
My trio of Exdeaths are all between 550 and 640ish in MAG (when dolled up and kitted out, and depending on Esper).
Exdeath rules, because he has both Native Dualcast (Black Magic only, though) AND Native METEOR, which is one of the three strongest magic attacks as of now (April 2017).
But look at Ariana’s stats with most of the same set-up (except where she has some Ariana-specific wardrobe going on).
Actually, we should look at her with the identical set-up.
(Not now, though.)
NOT that it matters, because Dualcast and all, but if you need a chainer, perhaps you should say HELLO to Dangerous Ariana.
(Just in case you’re wondering, Arc, Hope, and CoD can also equip Meteor, Ultima, and any other Level 8 Black Magic we get.)
I (well, we) figured out at least two of the gacha algorithms in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
I need to do more testing before I share tips, but during over 500 pulls yesterday (in the office, so it was very professional and totally ok to get so much lapis), the following happened:
NOTE: The slideshow below does NOT show how many rainbows we got; this is literally under half of the ones we got in 24 hours, with the exception of the first two Orlandeaux. And NO, we are not trying to show off! (Sally forced me to write that last line, but I, Gwaelin, have no problem with showing off my battle scars that cost me over $1,000 and my sanity. And my editor’s sanity (Sally just harrumphed.)
The long and short of it:
CONDITIONS had to be met
We got the MOST rainbows (and banner units) at a particular time. Since our testing only used three accounts, this COULD have been coincidence.
Tied for “most rainbows” was also a particular SEQUENCE of activities.
We are NOT sure if this is true at ALL, or just where lapis is involved, or even if PURCHASED lapis is involved. Only ONE of the three accounts was F2P, and that account had, in fact, purchased Olive’s Special and Orlandeau’s Special, and the lapis to cover them both, so not sure if that even counts as F2P anymore.
2. Stats don’t lie. Except when they do. Which is all the time. So don’t be fooled.
While it’s a given that pulling 500+ units is going to involve purchased lapis, it’s ALSO a given that for every RAINBOW there’s a disproportionate amount of BLUES.
In other words, JUST because we pulled lots of rainbows–and no less than THREE sets of duplicates (which is, like, statistically-improbable–I mean, four sets of triplets in under 12 hours? That’s some serious algorithm leakage OR JC innaHAUS. (Sally forced me to type that. Sigh.)
If you don’t believe us, look at all the OTHER stuff that surfaced during this Pulling Pool For the Ages:
PHOTOS UPLOADING, COME BACK SOON!
Anyway, I have to do some more testing, and calculations, and, well, more later, ok?
Gwaelin, who is changing her name to GWHALEin (upgraded from GWAILIN), after pulling a total of four Orlandeaux (it’s OrlanDOOOH, like the Florida town, by the by.
EAU is French for water, and is said like a robust Canadian OH!)
